Nordic Connect is comprised of two Swedes, two Canadians of Danish heritage and one American of Norwegian heritage, making for a highly original take on jazz! The Jensen sisters, Ingrid (trumpet, fluegelhorn) and Christine (alto and soprano saxophones) have had long-standing musical relationships with all of the members of this ensemble : Maggi Olin (piano, Fender Rhodes), Mattias Welin (upright bass) and Jon Wikan (drums). They released their first recording, Flurry (Artistshare), in February 2007. It is a magical blend of Scandinavian and American cultural influences woven together to generate an altogether new sound in the jazz realm.

Projet Nordic Connect
Nordic Connect porte bien son nom : le projet réunit en effet deux artistes suédois, deux canadiennes d’origine danoise, et un américaine d’origine novégienne! Autour des soeurs Jensen, Ingrid (trompette, cornet) et Christine (saxophones alto/soprano), on compte Maggi Olin (piano, Fendre Rhodes), Mattias Welin (contrebasse)et Jon Wikan (batterie). Le résultat de cette collaboration est un mélange magique des influences américaines et scandinaves, dans des compositions originales servies par des interprètes exceptionnels. Chacun des virtuoses trouve au sein du groupe un espace d’expression, mais aussi le plaisir d’une grande complicité.
