Christine Jensen Quartet

Christine Jensen (S) Steve Amirault (P)  Adrian Vedady (B)  Jim Doxas (D)

Christine Jensen, hailed as one of Canada’s most influential composers and saxophonists, leads an exceptional quartet that includes the pianist Steve Amirault, bassist Adrian Vedady, and drummer Jim Doxas. Together, they form an ensemble that boasts an undeniable chemistry, which can only be cultivated through years of collaboration.

Christine Jensen’s emotive saxophone melodies in her latest album ”

” are reflective of her state of mind during the pandemic years, with the standout track ‘Lined’ capturing isolation through haunting ambience. This album features the title track, an enchanting piece inspired by a full moon during sunrise, setting the tone for a night of jazz exploration.

The band is available for summer festival engagements.

“Jensen writes in three dimensions, with a quiet kind of authority that makes the many elements cohere. Wayne Shorter, Maria Schneider and Kenny Wheeler come to mind.”  — Downbeat
