Christine Jensen receives Oscar Peterson Award

Montréal International Jazz Festival 2017

Christine Jensen is this year’s recipient of the Montréal International Jazz Festival’s Oscar Peterson Award. The prize has been awarded by the festival since 1989, first to Oscar Peterson and subsequently to Canadian musicians who made “outstanding contributions to jazz in this country and for the quality of their art. ” (Equipe Spectra)

Congratulations!

The award was given to Christine in the presence of Oscar Peterson’s daughter Céline on June 30, 2017, just before Christine’s concert with her band Infinitude later on that day. You can read a London Jazz News review of the show here.
