François Bourassa Quartet en studio

Coming up: 9th album

The François Bourassa Quartet is in the studio this week, recording the music for their forthcoming album which will be François’ 9th release as a leader.

For this album, which will be released on Effendi in the autumn this year, François intends to explore different musical atmospheres. Classical music will always be present as an influence, alongside recent jazz and free improvisation. The band premiered some of the new material at Jazz en Rafale in March – see video on the right – and also played at Regina Jazz Festival earlier this year.
