La musique folk nous rappelle nos origines et nous informe de sa direction — du moins, c’est la philosophie qui entoure le groupe Montréalais Rosier. Ayant passé leurs années formatrices au cœur de riches traditions musicales – sous le nom Les Poules à Colin – les membres du groupe s’accordent tant au présent qu’au futur, et se mettent au défi de redéfinir leur univers à travers un œil moderne. Le groupe bilingue réclame et interprète les traditions romantiques du folk québécois. Descendants immédiats d’une génération de pionniers de la musique folk, ils ont été élevés ensemble dans les coulisses de festivals, la musique folk sous les doigts et la tradition sur la langue. Les cinq musiciens se sont engagés non seulement à reproduire la musique de leur précieuse culture, mais aussi à la redéfinir, en plongeant leurs auditeurs dans un univers scintillant, aérien et accrocheur.
En nomination au Gala ADISQ en 2015 (Ste-Waves) et 2018 (Morose) dans la catégorie Album de l’année – Traditionnel, et au Gala des Prix OPUS 2019 (Morose), dans la même catégorie.

Folk music reminds us of where we came from and informs us about where we’re going – or at least that’s the bracing ethos of Montreal-based band Rosier. A group who spent their formative years wrapped in rich, untouched musical traditions, they are just as attuned to the present and the future, challenging and redefining their world through a modern lens. Reclaiming and interpreting the romantic traditions of Québécois folk, the bilingual band Rosier was born from a place of living heritage. These offspring of a pioneering generation of Canadian-American folk musicians were raised together in the underbelly of music festivals with folk music beneath their fingernails and tradition on their tongues. The band has created a layered sound that connects generations through origin and craft, reclaiming and interpreting the romantic traditions of Québécois folk through a modern lens.
