Infinitude European Tour 2017

Infinitude – The concept of boundless possibility

The multi-award-winning, renowned and prolific musicians Ingrid Jensen and Christine Jensen are thrilled to announce the Infinitude European tour 2017. Named after their album Infinitude (Whirlwind/ Proper 2012), the tour promises to bring to life the mysterious and hypnotic blend of telepathically communicated sounds that jump off this acclaimed recording, in addition to improvisational surprises that are sure to delight.

Infinitude – the concept of boundless possibility – is at the center of the music of Ingrid and Christine Jensen. Over the past twenty years or so, as trumpeter and saxophonist respectively, the West Canadian sisters have each shaped prolific careers in contemporary jazz around the globe. Christine Jensen has recently been awarded the Oscar Peterson Prize of the Montréal International Jazz Festival 2017 and has been voted “Rising Star – Soprano Sax” in the Downbeat Critics Poll 2017.

With Infinitude, the Jensens have realized a long-held ambition – to write for and perform in the more intimate setting of a quinte combining their intuitive, sibling trust with the creativity of their renowned fellow musicians: guitarist Ben Monder (all dates except Nov 9, 10), bassist Fraser Hollins and drummers Jon Wikan (all dates except Nov 12, 13) and Colin Stranahan (on Nov 12, 13).
